Rec Room | Day #5

[ By seven thirty, she's actually grateful Akechi chose a later time as she's had the chance to have a nap and shower before going to the Rec Room to meet him. She's wearing a pretty simple red dress but there's a white belt around the middle as well. The only problem is that it does very little to hide the bite mark on her neck from earlier that afternoon, but the closet of clothes she has been given didn't include scarves so she's... stuck with this for now.

The Rec room isn't a place she's spent too much time in yet, so while she waits for him to arrive she wanders around and examines what there is to do there. On the side she's left something for them to drink (though thinking about it, she isn't sure if wine was the best idea--but it's pretty common at home to drink it so it came as a second thought) too, along with the last box of chocolates she got from the bingo prizes.

She looks up when the door opens, however, smiling at Akechi as she moves to greet her properly. ]

Thank you, again. I bought some of the chocolates I had left from bingo for us to share, there is also wine if you like that? Though I can always go back and get something else if not. I just thought it may help us relax a little.

[ Or rather him. She's mostly fine, after all. ]

That's very thoughtful of you. Shall we break that bad boy open?

[This is definitely a cool and mature boy who has ever had alcohol before a day in his life]

Of course. [ It's a twisty top first, at least, though getting to the cork after will be a little problematic at first. She ends up using her legs to hold the bottle in place while trying to pull the cork out and thankfully it doesn't end up all over them both. ]

Perfecto. [ She pours the wine out into the two glasses, starting with a serving that is hopefully not too big. With that done, she'll put the bottle back onto the table and lift up the two glasses. ]

Here. I chose something a little drier to counter the sweetness of the chocolates, so it should be a good match.

How about a toast?

[takes one of the glasses and lifts it]

Something like... to all the things we'd never get to do at home.

[assent]

[ A toast seems fairly reasonable, especially as it's pretty common for people to do a cheers when they have a drink. ]

Yes, of course.

[ But then his suggestion has her face heating up just slightly, all the while she tries to keep a smooth smile on her face. ]

I think that sounds very fitting, given the circumstances. To all the things we'd never get to do at home.

[ She raises her glass, letting it clink softly against his. ]

[Clink! Akechi takes a sip.]

Would you like to play a game? A board game might be nice while we're still eating and drinking.

[assent]

[ She takes a sip as well, lowering the glass to savour the taste for a second. Her eyes sweep over the room, then back at him. ]

I would love to. Which board games do they have here?

[afailedmurder]

[Gets up, still carrying his wine glass, and heads over to where the board games are stored.]

Let's see, what's good for two players... Battleship, Connect Four, go, checkers...

[assent]

[ She takes hers with her too, taking the small box of chocolates as well. They'll be able to set up on the table after, so it's better to keep everything together. ]

We could start with Battleship? [ Is that really a good idea though. ]

[afailedmurder]

Excellent! Battleship it is.

[Akechi seems to think so! He pulls out the box, takes it to the table, and sets up the board]

[assent]

[ He hasn't seen her have the shock of losing and the curses that can follow. ]

It has been a while since I have had the chance to play.

[ I also cannot believe online battleships exists ]

[afailedmurder]

[She's not the only sore, swearing loser in the room. But Akechi is pretty cheerful as he sets up his pieces.]

I haven't played since I was a child. But one never forgets how to play.

Let's say... E5.

[assent]

[ It's always cheerful at the start--but at least her sore loser part is very quickly replaced anyway. It's just the initial shock like she's built herself up into winning by that point. ]

That is a miss, I am sorry to say.

[ She looks at her board. ]

D3?

[afailedmurder]

Miss!

[Takes a swig of his wine and reaches for a chocolate.]

G7.

[assent]

[ She's sipping slowly on her own wine, eyes on his face as he makes his decisions. ]

That was a miss, also. Um... H8?

[afailedmurder]

Miss.

[His expression is oh-so-serious as he looks over the board.]

[assent]

Miss.

[ She looks serious enough, but there's always a small tiny quirk to her lips, making it more like a smile. ]

D10.

[afailedmurder]

Hit.

...I think you get to go again after that.

[Takes a red peg and another drink of wine.]

[assent]

Yes, I believe so. [ She looks thoughtful, listening out the squares until she gets 3 out of 5 of them, anyway. ]

How do you like the wine, by the way?

[afailedmurder]

It's good.

[Keeps on missing, and keeps on drinking.]

...I could use a bit more.

[assent]

Um... Akechi-san are you all right?

[ After the third ship is sunk, she has to... ask... ]

[afailedmurder]

I'm fine. It's just a game.

[The corner of his mouth twitches and he has another drink. But hey, he finally manages to sink a ship.]

[assent]

[ He keeps consuming wine so quickly though that she ends up reaching for the chocolates instead, picking one up and holding it out for him. ]

That is fine, then. Would you like another?

[afailedmurder]

Please.

[he's not going to not take a chocolate]
